Facial Rejuvenation with Microneedling

Microneedling is a minimally invasive technique wherein tiny needles–less than 2 millimeters in length–are stamped or rolled over the skin to create micropunctures in the superficial skin layers. Studies show promising results for patients who desire facial rejuvenation or those who are troubled by skin texture, pigment, fine lines, or discoloration. There are various types of microneedling available at OA Facial Plastics which are either performed by a licensed esthetician or Dr. Klein.

Profound® Radiofrequency Microneedling

Profound® radiofrequency microneedling works by introducing slender microneedles through the epidermis, creating channels into the dermis and hypodermis. There, the electrodes on the Profound® system deliver energy and heat these layers of the skin in a controlled and targeted fashion. Both the outermost epidermal layer and the deeper structures are protected from injury, while Profound® radiofrequency energy stimulates long-term natural production of new collagen and elastin and increases the thickness of the dermal layer. Microneedling with Botox

Microneedling with Botox (onabotulinumtoxinA) is a minimally invasive procedure that can help improve the appearance of pores, reduce oil production, and even soften fine lines. Dr. Klein is undergoing the treatment in this video with Casey who is a licensed esthetician at OA Facial Plastics. This treatment does not interfere with traditional Botox injections because the Botox is delivered superficially, rather than injected into the muscle. A topical numbing agent is applied prior to the microneedling and aftercare and downtime is minimal.

For maximum benefits, we recommend this treatment every six months with regular microneedling treatments in between.

Microneedling with PRP

Microneedling with platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is considered one of the most exciting minimally invasive therapies for skin improvement. Medical research and clinical trials show promising results using microneedling and PRP in conjunction. Growth factors are obtained from the patient’s blood, spun down in a centrifuge, and microneedled into the skin. Over time, the treatments promote collagen production to revitalize the skin. Immediate improvements in texture, tone, and overall health of the skin may be noticeable. A series of 3 treatments is recommended and can address the face and neck. Additional single treatments help to maintain results as needed. Learn more on the blog.
